Nikolay Alfredovich Rents
Born on March 12, 1956 in the city of Temirtau, Republic of Kazakhstan, USSR.
Nikolay Rents started his career as a sheet-metal worker, and later worked as an electrician and a hospital attendant.
In 1980, he graduated from Samara medical University with a degree in Pediatrics.
During the period of 1980-1984 N. Rents worked as a doctor of Intensive Care Unit of the infection hospital no.4 of Samara.
During the period of 1984-1989, held the position of the department head of the City infectious disease hospital of Togliatti.
In 1989, he was voted for by the children health clinic’ organized body for a position of the Physician-in Chief.
In 1990, N. Rents was elected as member of the City Council of the People’s Deputies of Togliatti.
In 1990-1992 he held the office of the Deputy Mayor of Togliatti, combining it with the position of the head of department of healthcare.
In 1992-1995, N. Rents was the medical superintendent of AVTOVAZ Group healthcare division.
In 1995-2000, he worked as the Chief Physician of the City Hospital no.5 of Togliatti (MedVAZ).
Since 1994, Nikolay Rents was the Deputy of Samara Regional Duma (Parliament), chairing the Social Affairs Committee.
Since July 2000, he worked as the Mayor’s first deputy in the City Hall of Togliatti.
Since June 2007, Nikolay Rents went back to the position of the Chief Physician of the City Hospital no.5.
Nikolay A. Rents is a PhD (Medicine), and is an Honoured Doctor of the Russian Federation.
He is also is the Deputy of Samara Regional Duma of the I, II, IV, and V convocations.
On September, 2016, N. Rents was elected the Deputy of samara Regional Duma of the VI convocation, becoming the deputy Chairman of the Committee on Healthcare, Demography and Welfare; member of the Committee on legislation, justice, law enforcement and anti-corruption management.
On April 30, 2021, Nikolay A. Rents entered the office of the Head of the City of Togliatti.
